During two autumn holidays, I have been to South Africa, where I have been helping some of the poorest people in the country.
My visits have made a great impression on me, and they made me realize the abundance in which we live in the West. Since then, I have been mindful not to overconsume, especially when it comes to clothing. I try my best to make use of all my clothes or ensure that they find a new appreciative owner. This realization was also a driving force behind starting Femiknit - to inspire reusing yarn, utilizing our resources properly, and taking care of our planet.
For this reason, I have decided that for every purchased pattern, 10% will be donated to IThemba Projects and their work there.
